Dinner Presentation Summary: On January 1st, the 2019 code cycle will go into effect, bringing with it new requirements for mechanical system design and construction. This presentation will summarize the major changes and describe how they differ from current standard practices. The presentation will focus on the mechanical and energy codes, and will touch on selected relevant sections from building, plumbing, electrical, fire, and green codes.

Presenter Bio:
As a Mechanical Engineer and Energy Analyst, Kevin Smith applies his passion for sustainability to holistic energy modeling in order to guide design and optimize building performance. He has extensive experience in the higher education sector, having worked on projects on campuses in California, Oregon and Washington. In addition to working with Glumac, his background includes providing energy engineering services with a design-build mechanical contractor and with this diverse experience, Kevin is an asset to every project team.
Presenter Bio:
Dave Abuza is the Regional Applications Manager for ACCO Engineered Systems. He has eight years of experience in commercial HVAC design and construction. Dave graduated with honors from Cal Poly SLO in 2011 with an MS in Mechanical Engineering and a BS in Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in HVAC&R. Dave is a registered professional engineer in California & Nevada, a LEED Accredited Professional, and has been an ASHRAE member since 2009
